Tosa
The breed has been around for hundreds of years, originally from Japan, where it was first developed as a fighting dog and is still illegally used as that today. Although the Tosa is still very rare is Japan it has been exported to a number of countries, though some countries will not allow the breed because of its aggressiveness. The large Tosa stands around 24 inches and weighs 66 to 170, depending on the weight class. The Tosa is a very large and active breed of dog but they do very well in a family especially with children and smaller animals because their instinct is to protect, even to their death.
