Sussex Spaniel
The Sussex Spaniel was one of the original 9 breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1884, but have been around for much longer. The breed was custom to on-foot hunting where they excelled in flushing and retrieving upland game. The long, low, massive body of the Sussex Spaniel weighs between 35 to 45 pounds and stands at 13 to 15 inches tall. The breed does great with children and other animals, but owners should be ready for a large quantity of drool.
