Styrian Coarse Haired Hound
The breed was created in the 1870s in the Styria of Austria, where the hunters wanted a rough coated, hardy breed to hunt wild boar and to trail wounded animals in the rough Austrian terrain. The hound type breed weighs 33 to 40 pounds and stands 17 to 23 inches tall. The Styrian Coarse Haired Hounds are known for their serious expression, making them look like extremely good hunters but the breed is still very loving and devoted to their family.
