Sinhala Hound

The breed of dog comes from Sri Lanka as far back as 4500 BC, where the Balangoda people most likely kept the Sinhala Hound as highly prized companions but also made for great hunting dogs. The dogs were so highly prized that they were given away with daughters when they were married. Not much more is known about the breed but they are very rare among most countries, even Sri Lanka.
