Sabueso Espanol
The ancestors of the breed are known as far back as the Middle Ages where the Sabueso Espanol was used in Spain to hunt wild boar, deer, roe deer, fox, wolf, and bear as well as small game, and to track and find wounded or dead game. The medium to large sized breed weighs 53 to 55 pounds and stands 19 to 22 inches tall. The Sabueso Espanol is calm and courageous on the hunt, but is not suited to be solely a companion dog.
