Saarlooswolfhond
In 1921, a Dutch breeder attempted to combine the German Shepherd with a wolf to improve train-ability, and though the attempts were unsuccessful at first, the Saarlooswolfhond was later achieved and became a rare hunting breed rarely seen out of the Netherlands. The large, broad breed weighs 79 to 90 pounds and stands 24 to 30 inches tall. The breed is especially good for old-canine lovers who are ready to deal with an intense pact instinct, extreme shyness, and the need for a large place to roam and run.
