Pont Audemer Spaniel

No votes yet

It is believed that the breed originated in the Pont Audemer region of France during the 19th century when an old spaniel breed indigenous of France was crossed with a Irish Water Spaniel to create a fine pointing dog. Today, the excellent hunting breed is known for its prowess in working marshes. The compact, working breed weighs 44 to 60 pounds and stands 20 to 23 inches tall. The Pont Audemer Spaniel is nick named the clown of the marshes, for its happy and fun-loving attitude, but great hunting abilities.
