Plott Hound
During the 1700s, two British brothers sailed to the Americas bring along Hanoverian hounds, when the settled in North Carolina the family began breeding bloodhounds and curs that reportedly comprised the first stock of Plott hounds. The breed was carefully breed and specified for their superior hunting abilities, the Plott Hound stands 20 to 24 inches and weighs 45 to 55 pounds. The large breed is a great game hunter, but is still a fine companion while loving children greatly.
