Picardy Spaniel
The breed is considered one of the oldest continental Spaniel breeds, dating back to the 17th century where the Picardy Spaniel was most popular among French royalists that thoroughly enjoyed hunting. The typical Picardy Spaniel weighs 44 to 55 pounds and stands 22 to 24 inches tall. The breed is very docile and fond of playing with children, but like most dogs with pendulous ears, the Picardy Spaniel is prone to ear infections during hunting season.
