Phalene
The breed is the earliest form of the Papillon, while the erect-eared version was well document in the 16th century, the drop-eared version or Phalene was portrayed in many painting before that. The small and friendly breed stands 8 to 11 inches and weighs 7 to 10 pounds. Though the Phalene looks like a dainty toy breed, many owners depict them as a large dog in a small dog's body. The small breed is very athletic so at least a half hour of running a day is necessary.
