Pekingese
This breed can been seen in Chinese art dating back to the 8th century when the Tang dynasty placed the dog under sacred names. The breed was so highly regarded that if one was stolen the penalty was death. This lion-like dog weighs 8 to 10 pounds and stands at an average of 8 inches. The small size of a Pekingese make them good for apartment life, but they are hard to housebreak in any setting.

They are the best breed to have. Excellent companion dog, great for apartment living and are easy to house break. Have a new little boy and have had no accidents in the apartment. Waits to go outside each time. Yes there is alot of grooming, should be brushed almost daily but they are by far the best little dog one could have.
They are not yappers, only bark if someone comes to the door which everyone would want to know. Excellent breed.
