Icelandic Sheepdog
The breed originated from dogs brought to Iceland by the Vikings. Two times in history the breed has been near extinction, while today careful conservation of the breed is underway. The tough, working Icelandic Sheepdog stands 12 to 16 inches and weighs 20 to 30 pounds. The breed is very work dependent, but being with the family makes the Icelandic Sheepdog the happiest.
