Carpathian Shepherd Dog

The breed originated in Romania and were first written about by Alfred Edmund Brehm between 1829 and 1885 in the Veterinary Science Magazine. The large sheep dog stands at 23 to 29 inches and weighs 70 to 100 pounds. The Carpathian Shepherd Dog is devoted to its master and flock and it has been said that the breed will fight bears to protect them.
