Canadian Pointer

Average: 4.8 (8 votes)

Despite its name, The Canadian Pointer was first bred during the 1800s in the Northeastern United States, particularly Maine and upstate New York. The most recognizable trait of the Canadian Pointer is the thicker coat that was developed for hunting in colder climates. The intelligent yet gentle breed stands at 22 to 30 inches and weighs 40 to 60 pounds. Canadian Pointers are happy outside and in, preferring to be with their families.
