Belgian Mastiff

The breed most likely originated in France because of its close resemblance to the French Mastiff, while today the original Belgian Mastiff is extinct, efforts in Belgium are being made to recreate the breed. The success of the recreated breed has made a great companion, guard and tracking dog. The large, powerful breed weighs 99 to 110 pounds and stands 27 to 32 inches tall. The breed is not friendly with strangers but is very loving and affectionate towards the family.
