American Foxhound
One of the rarest dogs, American Foxhounds date back to the 1700's where the father of the breed, George Washington ran a breeding program. Ranging from 21 to 25 inches tall and weighing around 20 pounds, they were bred for running. An ideal home for an American Foxhound is in a rural area, but they can thrive in a small home, however exercise then becomes a definite need. The stubbornness of the breed may lead to some aggravation in training. After being trained, they are a protective asset to any family.
